IRVING, Texas – The American Conference released its second set of 2026 weekly baseball awards on Monday, Feb. 23. The league recognized UTSA’s Christian Hallmark as the Player of the Week after a stellar 4-0 week at the plate. Hallmark picked up the first such distinction by a Roadrunner this season, doing so a week after Josh Arquette was an honorable mention for the award.
The first-year Roadrunner had an exceptional four games at the plate, guiding his squad to a record-breaking week. The 'Runners started off with a 10-3 rout of UIC on Tuesday before sweeping Dallas Baptist at home, improving to 7-0 for the first time in the 35-year history of the program.
The center fielder started all four contests, posting five hits and drawing five walks for an on-base percentage of .647. His base knocks drove in seven runs, highlighted by a grand slam against the Flames on Tuesday that boosted his weekly OPS to 1.374. He scored three runs of his own as UTSA outpaced its opposition by a 38-22 margin over four games. Elsewhere, Hallmark racked up two more stolen bases on as many attempts, adding 11 putouts without an error.

Hallmark will lead the Roadrunners northeast up I-35 for a rivalry matchup at Texas State on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The Bobcats (5-2) took two of three from Gonzaga this weekend and are set to host UTSA at 6 p.m. from San Marcos. Pat Hallmark’s bunch will play its first road game of 2026 on ESPN+, with all the action also available to follow via StatBroadcast. This weekend, the squad heads to Houston for the 26th annual BRUCE BOLT College Classic.
