Men’s Tennis to visit SMU

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s tennis team is headed for Dallas, Texas, where they’ll take on SMU on Sunday at 2 p.m. inside the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex.

The Roadrunners (0-6) are coming off a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Tulane, which saw sophomore Oskar Grzegorzewski, freshman Maximilian Ontiveros and newcomer Constantin Radu all earn singles victories. On the season, Grzegorzewski and Radu pace the team with two singles victories apiece, while Grzegorzewski and classmate Ben Chetewy Ungar have the squad’s lone doubles win.

The Mustangs (5-5) will take on Abilene Christian Saturday, and Oral Roberts Sunday before facing the ‘Runners. Most recently, they hosted the ITA Team Indoor Championships, where they picked up a win over Arizona State, with losses to Ohio State and Florida.

Trevor Svajda has been unstoppable on the season, going 8-0, while Jerry Barton is not far behind at 7-1. Svadja and teammate Alex Finkelsein have been their most potent doubles duo with a 4-3 record.
