SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team is hitting the road, with a Tuesday night tussle against UAB at 6 p.m. in Birmingham, Alabama, inside Bartow Arena.

The Roadrunners (10-10, 5-4 American) will look to bounce back after suffering a 65-55 defeat at the hands of a first-place Rice squad on Saturday. Sophomore Damara Allen and senior Ereauna Hardaway each scored in double figures against the Owls, with Allen logging 11 points with six rebounds while Hardaway managed 10 points.
Classmate Cheyenne Rowe had a solid week for the squad, averaging 18.0 points per game, with 9.5 rebounds per game, three steals and a block. She first charted 27 points and 11 boards in a 66-64 win over North Texas, before adding nine points and eight rebounds against the Owls.
The Blazers (8-13, 1-8 American) are fresh off their first conference victory, recently downing Wichita State, 83-65 on the road. UAB is not afraid to shoot the three, with 8.3 triples per game leading the league and a 36.0% clip from beyond the arc ranking 22nd nationally.
Individually, Cali Smallwood connects on 3.10 three-pointers a game for the sixth-highest average in the NCAA, and she hits those shots at a 41.9% clip.
Smallwood tops the team with 14.6 points per game, while Sofia Munoz (12.2), Molly Moffit (11.1), Eleecia Carter (11.0) and Monae’ Duffy (10.4) join her in averaging double-digits. Duffy commands the boards with 8.2 rebounds per game, and defensively, Munoz has swiped 32 steals, and Moffit has recorded 12 blocks.
