Stuedeman releases 2026 UTSA Softball schedule

SAN ANTONIO – On Thursday, head UTSA softball coach Vann Stuedeman officially released the 2026 schedule, as the Roadrunners are set to host a trio of tournaments, and visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, before beginning American Conference play. The ‘Runners will open the season by hosting the UTSA Invitational from Feb. 6-8, which will see Texas, Washington, and Nebraska visit Roadrunner Field.

From there, UTSA will head to Mexico for the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge on Feb. 11-13, at Nancy Almaraz Stadium. The Roadrunners will face Southern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, and Long Beach State during the event. The tournament marks the first time the softball team will compete internationally, and it’s just the second time they’ve left the continental United States, last taking on a Hawaii Tournament in 1997.

The Roadrunner Invitational will follow from Feb. 20-22 in San Antonio, with UMass Lowell, Northern Colorado and Stephen F. Austin coming to town, ahead of the Birds Up Bash on Feb. 27-March 1. North Dakota State, New Mexico State, St. Francis and UT Arlington round out the events field.

Intertwined, UTSA also has home nonconference contests on the docket, with Houston Christian (Feb. 17), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (March 4), Prairie View A&M (March 24) and Texas State (March 31).  Additionally, the ‘Runners will visit the Islanders on March 11, Sam Houston on March 18, and the Bobcats on April 7.

Action in the American will begin on March 6, with UTSA visiting Tulsa for a three-game series that will conclude on March 8. The conference road slate includes trips to Florida Atlantic (March 27-29), Wichita State (April 10-12), UAB (April 17-19) and East Carolina (May 1-3).

The Roadrunners will host their first conference series on March 13-15, facing Memphis, and also invite North Texas (March 20-22), South Florida (April 2-4) and Charlotte (April 24-26).

The American Conference Softball Championships will take place in Greenville, N.C., at the Joyner Family Softball Stadium from May 6-9. NCAA Regionals will follow from May 15-17, with Supers taking place May 22-24 and the Women’s College World Series May 28-June 5.
