Miller named American Field Athlete of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Marking the first weekly honor of the year for UTSA track and field, redshirt junior Jemuel Miller has been named American Conference Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Ted Nelson Invitational, officials from the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Logging his first triple jump in over a year and his first indoor attempts since the 2023 season, three-time All-American Miller leapt 15.69 (51-5.75) on his second attempt to claim the top spot and secure the gold.

His inaugural jump of the season, Miller’s mark registers as the 25th-best national measurement and the best leap in the American Conference standings so far. Miller also recorded the American’s top long jump mark this season in December competition.

Miller and the Roadrunners will be back in action on the first weekend in February, headed back to College Station and Fasken Indoor Track for the Charlie Thomas Invitational, Feb. 6-7.
