Fox, UTSA announce 2026 outdoor track & field schedule

SAN ANTONIO –  Heading into the spring semester, the UTSA track & field program announced on Friday the finalized 2026 outdoor schedule, featuring one home meet at Park West and seven total opportunities for competition within the Lone Star State.

In the 18th season with Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox leading the combined program, the Roadrunners will host their first outdoor competition of the year, running the UTSA Invitational as the outdoor opener for the third consecutive year. Coming just one week after the conclusion of the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the two-day home outdoor competition at the Park West Athletics Complex is set for Friday and Saturday, March 20-21.

In the following week, UTSA will close March’s competition with the short trek up I-35 to San Marcos for Texas State’s Charles Austin Classic, running the 27th and 28th at Bobcat Track & Field Stadium.

The first double-meet week kicks off April, as UTSA’s elite competitors will travel to the nationally recognized 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium, running from Wednesday to Saturday, April 1-4, with the Roadrunners squaring off against an elite national field. Nearly concurrently, Texas State will also host the Bobcat Invitational, April 2-4, in San Marcos.

The first of two trips to College Station follows on Friday-Saturday, April 9-10, with UTSA heading to the 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium. The following week sends the Roadrunners west for the nationally renowned 66th Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, running Wednesday to Saturday, April 15-18.

UTSA opens the month of May and closes the regular season on a return trip to College Station, taking on Texas A&M’s Alumni Muster at Cushing Stadium for the final marks heading into championships season.

The postseason begins in Denton with the American Conference Outdoor Championships, set to be contested Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16, at the UNT Soccer and Track & Field Stadium. At last year’s American Outdoor in Charlotte, the women’s team accumulated 99 points and finished third in the field. The UTSA men were ninth with 31 points.

From there, a short preparation gap ahead of the NCAA West First Round Championships, set for Wednesday-Saturday, May 27-30, at historic John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Qualified Roadrunners will battle for the right to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in TrackTown USA, Eugene, Oregon, with the national final held at legendary Hayward Field, Wednesday-Saturday, June 10-13.
