Men’s Tennis to open 2026 season facing Texas A&M

SAN ANTONIO – On Saturday, the UTSA men’s tennis team will open the 2026 campaign in College Station, with a match on the docket against Texas A&M at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

Senior Luke Cantu enters the season as the squad’s lone senior, with a trio of sophomores by his side in Oskar Grzegorzewski, Ben Chetewy Ungar and Enzo Vargas. Four freshmen join the team for the upcoming campaign in Maximilian Ontiveros, Timeo Bretin, Constantin Radu and Yonatan Sagiv.

The Roadrunners will look to improve upon a 12-11 campaign a year ago, with Grzegorzewski compiling an 11-5 singles record as a freshman. Behind him, Vargas picked up six wins, while Chetewy Ungar picked up four and Cantu one. Additionally, the combination of Chetewy Ungar and Grzegorzewski had a squad-best five doubles wins a season ago.
