SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Football’s third consecutive bowl victory on Dec. 26 at the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl came in front of the largest television viewing audience in program history.
A reported 3.1 million viewers tuned in on ESPN for the Roadrunners’ most-recent bowl appearance, which was the largest audience in SERVPRO First Responder Bowl history. Peak viewership reached 4.8 million during that broadcast.
UTSA viewership exceeded 3 million for the first time in program history and marked just the second Roadrunners’ game with a viewership of more than 2 million all-time.
The bowl audience was the second highest among American Conference teams in bowl games this year outside of the College Football Playoff.
The total viewership for American Conference bowls, including the CFP game, was approximately 23 million viewers, which was almost a 100 percent increase from the previous season.
