LEWISVILLE, Texas — UTSA seniors Robert Henry Jr. and Caile Hogan have been named to the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College Second Team, the publication announced Tuesday.
Henry has emerged as one of the top running backs in the FBS in his final campaign with the Roadrunners. The Lumberton, Mississippi, native has piled up 1,045 yards and nine touchdowns on 151 carries, good for averages of 6.9 yards per attempt and 95.0 yards per game. The third Roadrunner to crack the 1,000-yard barrier on the ground, he has topped the century mark five times this fall, including in the first four contests. He opened the year with 177 yards and a pair of TDs on 16 carries at Texas A&M and then recorded 158 yards and two scores to go with a receiving TD against Texas State. He posted 144 rushing yards in back-to-back wins over UIW and Colorado State and went for 138 yards at North Texas. He leads the nation with six plays from scrimmage of 70-plus yards, including an FBS-best five rushes of that distance. He currently leads the American Conference and ranks third nationally in average yards per rush.
Hogan currently boasts a UTSA-record 46.16-yard punting average this season. The Melbourne, Australia, native has punted 49 times with 16 of those sailing 50-plus yards including career-long 60-yard punts against Temple and North Texas. He has pinned opponents inside their 20-yard line 17 times and forced 14 fair catches. He averaged 50.5 yards with a long of 59 on eight punts in the season opener at Texas A&M. He turned in a season-best 50.6-yard average at North Texas, while he had three punts end up inside the 20 in the victory over Rice. He currently ranks 13th in the FBS with his American Conference-leading punting average, which is a notch above Lucas Dean’s program standard of 45.98 set in 2020.
