Roadrunners travel to McFerrin Invitational on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – After kicking off the indoor season in December for the first time since 2013 with the Silver State Invitational, the UTSA track and field team will extend this weekend’s competition with another contingent headed to College Station for Texas A&M’s McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational on Saturday at R.A. "Murray" Fasken '38 Indoor Track.

With 21 Roadrunners on the traveling party to College Station, including 13 men and 8 women, UTSA will compete in a mix of individual events, including throws, distance, sprints, hurdles and jumps. UTSA will be joined by Texas A&M, Abilene Christian, Sam Houston and SMU in the single-day, 13-event competition.

The events begin on Saturday with the weight throw at 2 p.m., with pole vault and high jump running simultaneously. The long jump is set for 4 p.m. and the shot put begins competition at 4:30 p.m. to close out field events. Running events begin with the mile at 4 p.m., followed by the 60-meter, 60-meter hurdles, 300-meter, 1,000-meter, 600-meter, 3,000-meter and closing off the day with the 4x400-meter relays starting at approximately 6:15 p.m.

With both weekend meets completed, the Roadrunners break for the semester and return to indoor action back in College Station on Jan. 23-24, 2026 for Texas A&M’s Ted Nelson Invitational.
