Four Roadrunners land on Preseason All-American Conference Team

IRVING, Texas — A league-high four UTSA Roadrunners were named honored by the American Conference on Tuesday, as Drew Detlefsen, Connor Kelley, Robert Orloski and Andrew Stucky all landed on the preseason all-conference baseball team.

Additionally, UTSA was picked to finish second in the league’s preseason poll, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. The reigning regular season conference champion Roadrunners were chosen second behind East Carolina in the preseason poll. UTSA and ECU each received four first-place votes, but the Pirates tallied 75 total points to edge out the Roadrunners’ 70.

Under the direction of 2025 ABCA/ATEC Central Region and American Conference Coach of the Year Pat Hallmark, UTSA is coming off a historic season that saw them finish with a 47-15 record, a conference title, an NCAA Regional championship and NCAA Super Regional appearance, the first-ever top-10 national finish by a UTSA program.

Detlefsen is coming off a junior campaign that saw him earn 2025 American Conference Co-Newcomer Position Player of the Year and second-team all-conference accolades. A senior outfielder from Trophy Club, Texas, he led the team with 13 home runs and 70 RBIs, the second most in a season in program history. He also scored 61 runs, slugged .559 and posted an on-base percentage of .418.

A senior pitcher from Spring, Texas, Kelley registered a 3-1 record, 2.72 ERA and one save in 24 total appearances in 2025. He notched 49 strikeouts and surrendered just 15 walks in 36.1 innings pitched, holding opponents to a .183 batting average.

Orloski returns after a sophomore season that saw the right-handed pitcher garner first-team all-conference honors. He posted an 8-0 record, 3.36 ERA and nine saves in 27 appearances in 2025. The Middleton, Idaho, native struck out 77 batters in 72.1 innings pitched and limited opponents to a .212 batting average.

A senior catcher out of Tucson, Arizona, Stucky was chosen as the first-team all-conference catcher this past season. He made 42 starts behind the plate in 52 games, posting a .324 batting average, 56 hits, 40 runs and 40 RBIs. He logged a .514 slugging percentage and .467 on-base percentage, while also fielding at a .994 clip.
