UTSA inks 17 on first day of early signing period

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head football coach Jeff Traylor on Wednesday announced that the program has signed 17 future Roadrunners on the first day of the early signing period, which runs through Friday, Dec. 5

The newest Roadrunners are Brandon Brown, Archie Chambers, Kevin Davis, Jarvse “Duece” Dickerson, Chris Dupree, Josiah Evans, Maguire Gasperson, Aden Hall, Prince Hall, William Hodges, Trysten Laughlin, Jacob Lopez-Veasey, Braeden Lott, Cael Meisman, Jamarri Vinson, Zavier Walton and Payton Williams.

A dozen of the signees hail from the state of Texas with four from the Greater Houston area, three from San Antonio, two apiece from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Central Texas and one from the Brazos Valley.

The out-of-state signees are coming from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and South Dakota.

Eight of the newcomers are projected to play on the defensive side of the ball, eight are pegged for the offense and one is a specialist.

Of the 17 signees, 12 are coming directly from the high school ranks, four are junior college transfers and one is coming from a four-year institution.
