UTSA falls to Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Roadrunners (13-13, 6-9) fall to Florida Atlantic (19-10, 10-6) 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-21) on Friday, Nov. 14 at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena in Boca Raton, Fla.

Set One
The Roadrunners opened up the match by going on a three-point run. Florida Atlantic took the lead by going on a four-point scoring surge to go up 6-5. The two teams went back and forth as the set was tied at 12-12. The Roadrunners won the race to 20 as they led by one. The Roadrunners forced set point up by two. The Owls then went on a four-point run to win the first set 26-24.

Set Two
UTSA went on an early 10-3 lead thanks to a 7-1 scoring run.  Florida Atlantic mounted a comeback as they tied the second set at 15-15. Florida Atlantic won the race to 20, leading the Roadrunners by two. The Owls managed to close it out, winning the second set 25-21.

Set Three
Florida Atlantic went up early as they were up 10-4. UTSA went on a five-point run to cut the Owl lead to two as they led 19-17. UTSA attempted a comeback but unfortunately fell 25-21.

Notes
- Gigi Mason recorded her seventh double-digit kill match of her career with 15 kills.
- Megan Hawkins had 15 assists and 12 digs for her ninth double-double of the season.
