Roadrunners headed to Fayetteville, Ark. for NCAA South Central Regional Championships

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA cross country team will make the trek to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the NCAA Division I South Central Regional Championships on Friday at Agri Park. The women will take on the 6k at 9 a.m., ahead of the men’s 10k at 10 a.m.

The freshman tandem of Jocelyn Karry and Madison Gilliam will compete for the women, with Karry holding a personal best of 21:40.5 in the event from the American Conference Championships that landed her in 32nd and on the All-Freshman team. Gilliam, meanwhile, clocked in at 23:01.3 at the event for her top collegiate time.

On the men’s side, fellow All-Freshman team member Ethan Carranza headlines a group that includes classmates Austin Lyda and David Zuniga, as well as senior O.J. Ruiz. Ruiz represents the only squad member to have run a 10k, after posting a time of 32:44.1 and finishing 118th in the 2024 iteration of the South Central Regional Championships.
