DALLAS — Logan Vargas tied for 31st to lead the UTSA men’s golf team to 16th at the Trinity Forest Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72/7,617 yards).
Vargas ended up at 1-under-par for the week to pace the Roadrunners in their final fall tournament. The senior from Lubbock, Texas, opened with a 2-under 70 followed by a 72 on Monday before closing things with a 73 today. His final round featured four birdies to give him a team-high 13 for the event.
Vargas bounced back from a pair of early bogeys with birdies on the 630-yard, par-5 fifth and on the 215-yard, par-3 eighth holes. He logged his third birdie of the day with a five on the 554-yard 10th and added a fourth on the 315-yard, par-4 14th.
His 1-under 215 marked the best 54-hole score of his fall campaign and his second-best tally during his UTSA career behind a 4-under 212 recorded at the 2025 American Conference Championship this past April.
Joshua Hong was the next highest-finishing Roadrunner, grabbing a share of 55th (222). The true freshman from Mexico started his week with a 75 on Sunday and then carded a 73 on Monday before posting a 74 today that included four birdies, including back-to-back on Nos. 1-2 to start his day.
Logan Zurn tied for 67th with a 225. The senior from Grapevine, Texas turned in pair of 74s over the first two rounds before settling for a 77 on the final 18 holes.
Brayden Bare tied for 73rd (72-74-80—226) and Francisco Solorza shared 85th (78-75-79—232) to round out the UTSA lineup.
USC and Rice tied for the team title, while Houston’s Hudson Weibel won a sudden-death playoff to claim individual medalist honors.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Feb. 1-3 at the Compadres Collegiate in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
