SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women’s golf team will continue the fall campaign at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, which will be held Friday-Sunday, Oct. 3-5, at University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup consisting of Lauren Rios, Victoria Schuldt, Daniela Abonce, Kayla Black and Sydney Bisgrove.
UTSA will compete against Colorado, Colorado State, Clemson, Denver, Hawai’i, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, San Francisco, Texas State, Tulane, UNLV, Vanderbilt, Wyoming and Xavier.
The field will play 18 holes starting at 9:30 a.m. CT each day. Live scoring will be provided at birdiefire.com.
UTSA has played in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate twice previously. The Roadrunners finished third in 2017 behind four top-20 finishers that helped them register a 5-under 859, which is tied for the seventh-best 54-hole total in program history. They placed eighth in 2018 in their last appearance.
The Roadrunners are coming off a third-place showing at the Red Raider Invitational on Sept. 23-24 in Lubbock, Texas. Rios tied for third place with a 1-under-par 215 to log the best finish of her UTSA career, while Abonce grabbed a share of 12th.
Rios paces the team with a 71.33 stroke average. The senior from Coppell, Texas, has posted five par-or-better scorecards in six rounds this fall.
Abonce is close behind with a 72.0 scoring average. The senior from Mexico tied for fourth at the Sam Golden Invitational last month with an 8-under 208 that featured a 7-under 65 in the second round.
Bisgrove ranks third on the squad with a 73.67 average. The sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, carded a 4-under 212 that included one of her two 3-under 69s this season to tie for 25th at the Sam Golden Invitational.
Black owns a 74.17 stroke average in six rounds. The freshman from Mississauga, Ontario, turned in an even-par 216 that included a season-best 71 at the Sam Golden Invitational while her top finish is a tie for 31st at the Red Raider Invitational.
Schuldt has logged a 76.5 scoring mark through six rounds. A native of Germany, she tied for 28th with a 228 that was highlighted by a season-best 72 at the Red Raider Invitational.
