SAN ANTONIO – UTSA defeats East Carolina 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-19) on Sunday, Oct. 19 at the Convocation Center. The Roadrunners improve to 11-8 and 4-4 in American Conference play.
Set One
East Carolina was able to take the first point of the match; however, UTSA ripped off a four-point run to take the lead. UTSA was able to score six straight points to go up 18-9 over the Pirates. The Roadrunners were able to close out the set one win, winning 25-14.
Set Two
ECU took the lead in the second set on the back of a 9-1 scoring run to go up 10-5 over the Roadrunners. UTSA was able to tie it at 12-12 thanks to a 6-1 scoring run. The Roadrunners then took a 17-12 lead on the back of an eight-point scoring run with Giada Obregon serving. In that run, Obregon recorded three service aces. The Roadrunners won the race to 20 leading by five. The Roadrunners were able to close out the set as they won 25-19.
Set Three
UTSA was able to take an early 9-4 lead over the Pirates. UTSA was then able to hold its lead as it led by two at 15-13 over East Carolina. The Pirates were able to come back as the game was tied at 18-18. UTSA was then able to win the race to 20. UTSA closed out the sweep, winning the third set 25-19.

- Brooke Elliott notched 11 kills for a career high.
- Taylor Gaines had 11 Kills for her 11th double-digit kill game of her career.
- Obregon has 12 digs for her 11th double-digit dig game of the season.
- Caroline Tredwell also had 11 kills for her sixth double-digit kill game of the season.
