SAN ANTONIO – UTSA falls to Wichita State 3-1 (25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17) on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Convocation Center. Gigi Mason led the team in kills with 12.
Set One
The Shockers took an early lead, going on a six-point surge to open the game, leading 7-1. Wichita State held their lead as they won the race to 20, leading 20-17. The Shockers managed to close out the set one win with a four-point scoring run to win 25-18.
Set Two
Wichita State opened up the second set with a four-point run. The Roadrunners went on a four-point scoring run led by Giada Obregon as she recorded two service aces. Wichita State won the race to 20, leading 20-13. They were able to close out the match, winning 25-15.
Set Three
The third set was a back-and-forth battle as the set was tied at 11-11. The Shockers then went on a four-point run to go up 15-11. Wichita State then won the race to 20, leading 20-17 over the Roadrunners. The Roadrunners fought back to tie it at 23-23.
Set Four
Wichita State jumped out to an early lead in the fourth set as the led the Roadrunners 8-1. The Shockers managed to maintain their lead as they were up 15-6. The Roadrunners fought back as they cut the lead to five with the score being 18-13. The Shockers won the race to 20, leading 20-14. The Roadrunners lost the fourth 25-17.

- Mason recorded her fourth double-digit kill game with 12 kills.
- Obregon tied her career high in service aces with three.
