UTSA to compete in Jacksonville Classic this fall

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UTSA men’s basketball and officials from the multi-team event announced on Tuesday that the Roadrunners will compete in the 2025 Jacksonville Classic, Nov. 23-25, this fall in Florida. The 10-team field was announced on Tuesday as well.

The Jacksonville Classic, billed as one of the nation’s premier early-season college basketball tournaments, will be held Nov. 23-25 at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex of Edward Waters University – which was founded as Florida's first independent institution for higher education in 1866.

Aside from the Roadrunners, the tournament field includes Abilene Christian, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Southern Illinois, UAB, UNC Greensboro, UTEP, William & Mary and Youngstown State.

In head coach Austin Claunch’s first season at UTSA, the Roadrunners competed in Troy’s holiday tournament, Trojan Turkey Tipoff in Alabama. For this year’s Jacksonville Classic, each team will play two games and game times/matchups will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Jacksonville Classic has quickly established itself as a staple of the college basketball schedule, delivering competitive matchups, national exposure, and a boost to the local community. With programs from across the country converging in Jacksonville, fans can expect three days of high-energy basketball and memorable moments from the largest college basketball event on the East Coast.

Tickets for full event passes are on sale now. Single-day tickets will be available at a later date.
