SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will tee off the 2025-26 season on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 8-9, when they travel to Corinth, Texas, for the Sam Golden Invitational, which will be hosted by North Texas at Oakmont Country Club (par 72/6,343 yards).
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup of Daniela Abonce, Lauren Rios, Sydney Bisgrove, Kayla Black and Victoria Schuldt. UTSA will face Central Arkansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Texas, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulane and Tulsa.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and the final round is slated for Tuesday. Live scoring will be provided at scoreboard.clippd.com.
UTSA last competed in the Sam Golden Invitational two years ago, turning in the best 54-hole total versus par in program history with a 27-under-par 837 to finish third. That record-setting showing included the lowest 36-total of 19-under 557, as the Roadrunners registered the second-best (-13/275) and fifth-lowest (-8/280) rounds in school annals.
Head coach Summer Batiste welcomes back five veterans for her ninth season at the helm of the program.
Abonce returns for her senior season after leading the team with a 74.07 stroke average in 2024-25. A native of Veracruz, Mexico, she logged five top-20 finishes last season including a tie for third at the Badger Invitational and a 12th-place tie at the Chevron Collegiate where she fired a 6-under-par 210. She tied for runner-up honors at the 2023 Sam Golden Invitational after carding a 12-under 204, the second-best 54-hole score in UTSA history.
Rios is back after emerging as a lineup mainstay this past spring. The Coppell High School product posted a 74.33 scoring mark and finished the campaign with back-to-back top-20 showings, including a tie for 13th at the American Conference Championship.
Olivia Williams, a senior from England, registered a 75.47 stroke average and a trio of top 30s, highlighted by a fifth-place effort at the Diane Thomason Invitational.
Maria Bastarrica, a junior out of Spain, turned in a 77.27 scoring average and a top finish of 25th at the Diana Thomas Invitational last season.
Bisgrove, a sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, played in four tournaments last fall and recorded her best finish of 25th at the Dale McNamara Invitational.
Batiste welcomes two freshmen to the roster this fall in Black and Schuldt.
Hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Black was a U.S. Women’s Amateur qualifier and Team Ontario member this year. She finished third at Team Golf Ontario’s Tour Championship last year.
Schuldt, a native of Hamburg, Germany, has won numerous events including three straight Hanseatic International Youth Open titles.
