UTSA Homecoming Game versus Rice selected for ESPNU broadcast

IRVING, Texas — Officials from the American Conference and ESPN announced on Monday that UTSA’s Homecoming Game versus Rice on Saturday, Oct. 11, will be televised nationally on ESPNU. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.

Fans can purchase tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Roadrunners and Owls will meet for the 13th time in a series led by UTSA, 8-4. The Roadrunners had won eight straight meetings before Rice pulled out a 29-27 victory in the final seconds last year in Houston. UTSA holds a 5-1 advantage in games played at the Alamodome including a 2-0 mark under head coach Jeff Traylor, who is 3-1 against the Owls.

The Homecoming Game also will include an on-field recognition of the 2025 UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame Class. Fabiola Arriaga (women’s golf), Rudy Davalos (athletics director), Amanda Michalsky (softball) and Mark Schramek (baseball) will be inducted on Friday, Oct. 10, at Pedrotti’s Ranch. Tickets for the induction ceremony are on sale by visiting goUTSA.com/HallOfFame.  

The ESPNU selection gives UTSA at least five linear broadcasts this season with upcoming Thursday night contests set for either ESPN or ESPN2 against Tulane on Oct. 30 and at South Florida on Nov. 6.

Winners of two straight games, UTSA (2-2) will travel to Philadelphia to face Temple (2-2) in the American Conference opener for both teams this Saturday, Oct. 4. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT at Lincoln Financial Field and the game will air on ESPN+and Sports Radio AM 760 The Ticket.
