UTSA to open American Conference slate

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA (7-2) is set to open American Conference play at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, against Tulsa (10-2) at the Convocation Center. They will then take on Charlotte (9-3) at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Convocation Center.

The Roadrunners’ game against Tulsa will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Alex Loeb providing play-by-play commentary and Samantha Thomas serving as the analyst.

The Tulsa Hurricanes are currently on a 10-game win streak as they haven’t lost a match since Aug. 30 against Colorado. Since then, Tulsa has only dropped four sets. Charlotte is currently 9-3 but will play a match against North Texas on Friday, Sept. 26.

UTSA is currently on a five-game win streak with wins over North Dakota, Idaho, UT Arlington, North Florida and Prairie View. UTSA currently has a home record of 3-2 as they have won their last three matches at the Convocation Center.

With conference play set to begin, the Roadrunners are looking to improve on their 2024 conference record, as they went 5-11 in conference games in the 2024 campaign. The Roadrunners currently have a conference win streak of three games as they won the last three matches of the 2024 campaign.

The Roadrunners have an all-time record of 12-3 against the Hurricanes. UTSA won the last faceoff 3-1 on Nov. 13 in 2024. The Roadrunners are 4-1 against Tulsa at home, 3-1 against the Hurricanes in Tulsa and 5-2 in neutral site matches.

UTSA is 9-3 all-time against Charlotte with a 2-2 record at the Convocation Center. UTSA is 6-1 against Charlotte at their place and 1-0. The Roadrunners lost their last matchup against the 49ers 3-4.
