UTSA announces 2025-26 schedule

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men’s golf team has announced its 2025-26 schedule, which features a home tournament at TPC San Antonio in February, regular-season trips to five other states and a spring season opener in Mexico.

The Roadrunners will tee off their fourth season under head coach Matt Wernecke on Sept. 7-9 when they travel to the Bayou State for the Argent Financial Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant.

UTSA then will head to Chicagoland for the Highlands Invitational, which will be hosted by East Tennessee State on Sept. 15-16 at Chicago Highlands Golf Club in Westchester.

The fall slate will continue Sept. 22-23 at the Badger Invitational at TPC Wisconsin in Madison before it wraps up on Oct. 5-7 with the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.

For the second straight year, UTSA will open the spring season in Mexico, competing in the Compadres Collegiate, which will be hosted by UTRGV at Iberostar Playa Paraíso in Playa del Carmen.

UTSA will return home to host the inaugural Lone Star Collegiate, which is set for Feb. 23-24 at TPC San Antonio’s Canyons Course. The Roadrunners will welcome Abilene Christian, High Point, Lamar, Middle Tennessee, UIW, ULM, UT Arlington, UTRGV and Western Kentucky to their home facility for the 54-hole event.

The Roadrunners will open a busy month of March by traveling east along I-10 to Lake Charles, Louisiana, for the Golden Nugget Invitational hosted by Lamar at The Country Club at Golden Nugget.

UTSA then will play in back-to-back tournaments in Arizona, first at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate on March 16-17 at Tucson Country Club before heading to the Phoenix area for the Bell Bank “Pay It Forward” Collegiate hosted by Minnesota at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park.

The Roadrunners will fly to Columbia, Missouri, for the Tiger Intercollegiate on April 6-7 at The Club at Old Hawthorne.

The American Conference Championship is set for April 27-29 at Ritz-Carlton Members Club in Sarasota, Florida.

NCAA Regional play is scheduled for May 18-20 and the NCAA Championship will be held May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
