EUGENE, Ore. – Competition kicked off on Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and the evening saw the lone Roadrunner from the UTSA men’s team in action, as Hugo Menin collected All-America Honorable Mention for his performance in the 400-meter hurdles semifinal at historic Hayward Field.
Running in the second heat of the event, the senior transfer from Cysoing, France made his NCAA Outdoor Nationals debut with a 50.98 clocking. Finishing 17th overall in the semifinal to earn All-American Honorable Mention, joining Roadrunners Keyunta Hayes, Jurmarcus Shelvin and Joshua Smith with All-America honors in the event – the first in the event for UTSA since 2015. His honor marks the 45th Outdoor All-American certificate for the Roadrunner men and the fourth consecutive season with UTSA notching at least one national honor.
There are no Roadrunners scheduled for competition on Thursday for the first day of women’s events, but redshirt freshman Mia Lien will begin her heptathlon journey on Friday and running into Saturday. Senior Rachela Pace is also slated for the triple jump on Saturday evening.
Lien’s schedule for the heptathlon is the 100m hurdles (Friday 1:45 p.m. CDT/11:45 a.m. PDT), high jump (Friday 2:45 p.m. CDT/12:45 p.m. PDT), shot put (Friday 4:45 p.m. CDT/2:45 p.m. PDT), 200m (Friday 8:43 p.m. CDT/6:43 p.m. PDT), long jump (Saturday 5:30 p.m. CDT/3:30 p.m. PDT), javelin (Saturday 6:45 p.m. CDT/4:45 p.m. PDT) and 800m (Saturday 9:43 p.m. CDT/7:43 p.m. PDT). The 2025 American Athletic Conference triple jump champion, Pace is set to jump on Saturday at 8:10 p.m. CDT/6:10 p.m. PDT.
