UTSA baseball clinches American Athletic Conference regular-season title

by Kaden Chumbley

IRVING, Texas — Following a win over South Florida and league results on Sunday, the UTSA baseball team has clinched its first regular-season conference championship since 2008, with six games remaining on its American Athletic Conference schedule.

Under the leadership of sixth-year head coach Pat Hallmark, the Roadrunners have notched an 18-3 conference record that has guaranteed the team at least a share of the title. The Roadrunners hold a six-game advantage over Florida Atlantic, Charlotte and South Florida, who are all tied for second.

UTSA has won two regular-season championships in back-to-back years, winning the Southland Conference in 2007 and 2008. The Roadrunners will now look to win the regular—season title outright with a win on Friday night against East Carolina.
