SAN ANTONIO – On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2025 Men’s Tennis Academic All-District team honorees, with UTSA senior Danijal Muminovic appearing among the awardees for the third consecutive year.
Formerly known as CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), CSC's 2025 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
A steady performer both in competition and as a notable academic and leadership presence for the Roadrunners, Muminovic registered a 3.97 cumulative grade point average on his double-major in Business Analytics, Operations and Supply Chain Management, with a minor in Management Science. He is a recognizable member of the Honors College program with an experiential enrichment component over the past three academic years. Originally from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, he has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete in each of the past three years with another on the way, was only the third men’s tennis Roadrunner to earn a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic Team, garnered two CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medals and was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team last year.
Muminovic is a six-time UTSA President’s List honoree, a three-year team representative on the UTSA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and spent the past year as the SAAC Secretary. He has also been among very select company as part of the UTSA President’s Student Advisory Council for two years, in addition to becoming the Vice President of Finance for Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. He also provides peer mentoring and exam proctoring within athletics and the Alvarez College of Business, volunteers with San Antonio Parks and Recreation and represented the institution during UTSA Day at the Capital in February, testifying in the Texas House and Senate about student-athlete impact and UTSA’s impact and future within the state. At this year’s Rowdy Awards, Muminovic received the Roadrunner Pride Award and Hathaway Academic Athlete of the Year Award.
A constant for the Roadrunners over the past four seasons, Muminovic helped the Roadrunners to their fifth consecutive 10-win season at 12-11 and advancing to the second round of the AAC Championships in 2024-25. Playing largely on court two singles, he co-led the Roadrunners in singles victories with a 12-6 record (11-5 on two), winning his final five matches. In doubles, he finished 8-7 on the year. In the fall, Muminovic finished as runner-up at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Individual Championships, reaching the title match after defeating the No. 1, No. 8 and No. 5 seeds. He was awarded AAC Player of the Week on Jan. 28.
Muminovic has been an important part of UTSA’s prominence in recent seasons, including a national ranking in two of the last three campaigns, including a program-record No. 34 ranking in 2023, while on the roster through four years and 52 team wins. He helped the Roadrunners to an NCAA-leading 14-match win streak that propelled the 2023 Roadrunners to the program’s first-ever at-large NCAA selection – garnering the most UTSA wins since 1985. Muminovic wrapped his UTSA career with a career singles record of 44-27 (.620) in spring season and 66-40 (.623) combined fall/spring.
Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Muminovic is among this year’s finalists who advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Men’s tennis first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 4, 2025.
