SAN ANTONIO – On Wednesday, Head UTSA Women's Basketball Coach Karen Aston officially announced the signing of transfer guard Ereauna Hardaway, who heads to UTSA after three seasons at North Texas.
Ereauna Hardaway | 5-8 | PG | Jonesboro, Ark. | Jonesboro HS | North Texas
A Jonesboro, Arkansas native, Hardaway heads to UTSA as a senior after spending three years as the starting point guard at North Texas. She led the Mean Green in assists across all three seasons, tallying 293, placing her fifth on the UNT all-time leader board.
This past season, Hardaway averaged 10.0 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 3.5 APG across her 34 starts, representing career bests. A capable scorer, she dropped 21 points on Dec. 7, 2024, against Southern Illinois for a collegiate high.
As a sophomore, Hardaway led the Mean Green to a Co-American Athletic Conference Regular-Season Championship. She started 28 of 32 games with 83 assists and was also named to the conference All-Academic team. In her freshman season, she worked her way into the lineup early, dishing out 91 assists.
She graduated from Jonesboro High School, winning the Arkansas State 5A Most Valuable Player Award in 2020-21 after leading the Hurricanes to the title. Hardaway was also chosen to play in the NXT All-American Game and was the Jonesboro Sun's Best Under the Sun Player of the Year. Additionally, she was a member of the Arkansas Sports Media Super Team in both 2021 and 2022.
Hardaway is the daughter of Taneisha and Eric Hardaway and has four brothers (Eric Hardaway Jr., Chutavion Walker, Bryson Wright, and Jayden Hardaway) and three sisters (Chyna Hardaway, A'erial Hardaway, and Amiah Hardaway). At UTSA, she will pursue a degree in public health, with the plan of becoming a nurse after finishing her basketball career.
Head Coach Karen Aston on Hardaway:
"What an important day it is to welcome Ereauna and her family to our program. We felt it was imperative to bring in a proven, experienced guard to lead our young guards, and I couldn't be any happier. We always talk about fit and culture pieces and our staff did a great job identifying players that would continue what we have established. Ereauna brings confidence, experience and playmaking to our team that we desperately needed. I'm so proud she chose to be a Roadrunner, and I can't wait to get on the floor with her this summer."
Hardaway joins a 2024-25 recurring class at UTSA that includes Jayda Holiman, Sema Udo, Sanaa Bean, and Adriana Robles.
