GREEN BAY, Wis. — Former UTSA All-America cornerback Zah Frazier was picked by the Chicago Bears on Saturday in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Frazier was chosen with the 33rd pick of the fifth round, making him the 169th overall selection in this year’s draft. He is the fifth player in program history to be selected in the NFL Draft, as he now joins David Morgan II (2016 sixth round), Marcus Davenport (2018 first round), Spencer Burford (2022 fourth round) and Tariq Woolen (2022 fifth round).

A native of Cedartown, Georgia, Frazier wrapped up his UTSA career last December by earning All-America accolades from two different publications. He was named to Phil Steele’s Third Team and was selected for honorable mention recognition by CBS Sports.
A first-team All-American Athletic Conference honoree, Frazier finished second in the FBS with a school-record six interceptions in 2024. He turned in a trio of two-INT games, all coming during league play. He picked off a pair of passes against East Carolina and in back-to-back home victories over North Texas and Temple to break the previous program standard of five.

Frazier, who played in the 100th East-West Shrine Bowl on Jan. 30 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, recorded nine pass breakups to give him 15 total passes defended, good for fifth on the school’s single-season chart and a share of sixth among FBS players in 2024. Additionally, the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football All-Texas College First-Team performer totaled 24 tackles, 20 unassisted stops, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and a quarterback hurry last fall.
Frazier participated in the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this spring in Indianapolis where he posted official times of 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split of 1.51, 4.26 in the 20-yard shuttle and 7.00 in the 3-cone drill, which was the second-fastest time among the cornerbacks. He measured 36 feet, five inches in the vertical jump and 10 feet, six inches in the broad jump.
