SAN ANTONIO – As UTSA Athletics continues its impressive rise in its second year as a member of the American Athletic Conference, success in competition has led to record-breaking attendance and ticket-sales figures.
Among the accomplishments for UTSA Athletics in the first quarter of 2025 are all-time single-game attendance records in both women’s basketball and baseball.
A full breakdown of the record-setting start to the year is below:
Women’s Basketball
- The Roadrunners experienced a historic season that saw the team set the school record for most wins in a single season (26) and won the American Athletic Conference regular-season championship, marking the first AAC team trophy for any UTSA squad since joining the league on July 1, 2024.
- UTSA set a new single-game attendance record of 2,250 fans in the season finale against Florida Atlantic on March 1. It shattered the previous record of 2,000 attendees set in 1991. The Roadrunners hosted seven games with an attendance of better than 1,000 fans this past season.
- A school-record 15,372 fans passed through the turnstiles during the 2024-25 campaign. UTSA also set a school record for average attendance at 1,152.
- The number of single-game tickets purchased in 2024-25 was an 81.3 percent increase from the previous season.
- UTSA set a school record for average student attendance in 2024-25. Since the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, average student attendance at women’s basketball games has increased 202 percent.
Men’s Basketball
- UTSA began the Coach Austin Claunch era in 2024-25, bringing new excitement and energy to the Roadrunners’ program.
- Men’s basketball season-ticket sales remained even despite two fewer home games from the previous year. Season-ticket sales in the last two campaigns are the highest for the Roadrunners since the 2019-20 season.
- Since the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, average student attendance at UTSA men’s basketball games has increased 20 percent.
Baseball
- UTSA is off to an impressive 28-9 start, including a 10-2 mark that leads the American Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners are currently ranked No. 23 in the NCAA RPI.
- The Roadrunners welcomed an all-time single-game Roadrunner Field school record 1,457 fans to their March 25 game against Texas State.
- UTSA’s season-ticket sales totals over the past three years are the best three years of season-ticket sales in the program’s history.
- The Roadrunners have averaged a stadium capacity of better than 80 percent through the team’s first 18 home games.
Softball
- UTSA, under the direction of second-year head coach Vann Stuedeman, has already eclipsed last season’s win total of 15 games with 13 games remaining in the 2025 campaign.
- The Roadrunners set a school record for season tickets sold in 2025. All 48 of the reserved chairback seats that were installed prior to the 2024 season sold out for the second consecutive year.
- Since the conclusion of the 2023 season, season-ticket sales for UTSA softball have increased 204 percent.
- The Roadrunners’ opening day attendance of 352 fans was its highest attendance in more than three seasons.
- Seven of UTSA’s 24 home games in 2025 have been full sellouts.
- So far this season, UTSA softball ranks top-75 in the nation in average attendance and fifth in the American Athletic Conference.
