WACO, Texas – The UTSA softball team suffered a 6-0 setback at the hands of Baylor in nonconference action on Wednesday at Getterman Stadium.
The Roadrunners (15-23, 2-13 The American) fell to the Bears (19-21, 7-8 Big 12) as Lexie Warncke (6-6) earned the win and freshman Ava Eldridge (4-5) got tagged with the loss despite allowing just one earned run over five innings of work. Classmate Reagan Stoudt also saw action in the circle, tossing a hitless frame. Offensively, senior Jaylen Prichard and classmate Crislyne Moreno logged hits, while Moreno, sophomore Kalee Rochinski and junior Madison Hornback were walked.
The Bears got on the board in the bottom of the first, plating a run, and they added four more in the second and another in the third to work a 6-0 advantage. UTSA was unable to spark a comeback and is now set to host UAB across a three-game American Athletic Conference series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. inside Roadrunner Field.
