SAN ANTONIO – On Thursday, UTSA volleyball coach Carol Price-Torok announced the addition of Derin Saygi, Keelea Alexander, and Raegan Ramirez, who will join the program for the 2025 season.
Derin Saygi | 6-2 | MB | Izmir, Turkey | Izmir Private Göymen HS
Saygi heads to San Antonio by way of Izmir, Turkey, where she competed for the Karşıyaka Sports Club and recorded six top-three finishes at the provincial level, including championships in 2019-20 (U15) and 2024-25 (U19). In 2022-23, with the U17 squad, she helped Karşıyaka to a fourth-place finish, and recently, she earned a spot in the Women’s 1st League Final Four.
She is the daughter of Berkay and Asli Saygi and has one sister, Beren. At Izmir Private Göymen HS, she maintained a 4.0 GPA and was the magazine editor and president of the literature club.

“Derin is a veteran middle that has a lot of playing experience. We are excited for her to bring her high energy and experience to our gym. Her personality is contagious and we are excited to get her to UTSA.”
Keelea Alexander | 5-7 | DS | DeSoto, Texas | DeSoto HS
Alexander clubbed for Drive Nation and played her high school ball for DeSoto, where she lettered all four years. She is a two-time First Team All-District selection and was once named to the second team. Additionally, Alexander helped the Eagles to the Texas UIL 6A State Playoffs four times, going as far as the third round in 2021.
She is the daughter of Ti-Sha and Edwin Alexander and has one brother, Corlen. At UTSA, she plans to study kinesiology and become a volleyball coach.

“Keelea is a tenacious, spunky player. Her personality will take our DS position to the next level. She’s a great student of the game who loves talking volleyball and wants to be great.”
Raegan Ramirez | 5-7 | DS | Georgetown, Texas | Georgetown HS
Ramirez has been one of Georgetown High School’s best, posting 868 digs in 2023 for a program record. She was also an All-Central Texas and All-Austin Metro First Team member and claimed District MVP honors in the process. In 2024, Ramirez cracked the All-Tournament team at the Volleyfest Tournament and made the All-Central Texas Preseason First Team. She helped the Eagles to District and Bi-District Champions as a junior while placing third at Volleyfest and winning the LGE tournament. Additionally, she clubs with Austin Skyline.
Off the court, she boasts a 3.9 GPA that has earned her Academic All-District awards and propelled Georgetown to a pair of AVCA Team Academic Awards. Ramirez will continue her education at UTSA, where she’ll study biology. Later, she would like to be a physician assistant. She is the daughter of Kristen and Israel Ramirez and has two sisters, Jordan and Gabrielle.
