SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners fall to No. 54 Wichita State 4-1 on Sunday, Mar. 30 at the Wichita Country Club in Wichita, Kan.
This was the Roadrunners’ fourth loss of the season as they fell to 17-4 on the year. They now have a road record of 8-2. In singles play, UTSA still holds a winning record of 69-29. They still hold a winning record in doubles matches as they are 33-20 on the year.
UTSA will play UT Arlington at 11 a.m. on Friday, Apr. 4 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas to close out regular season play.
Match 21
In doubles play, Wichita State was able to win the first match on No. 1 6-2. Arina Babenko and Valeria Sanchez won on No. 3 6-3 to force the deciding match at No. 2. However, Wichita State won on No. 2 7-5 to win the doubles point.
In singles, Wichita State took a 2-0 lead as the won on No. 2 6-2, 6-2. Vittoria Baccino gave the Roadrunners their first point of the match as she won 6-4, 6-4 on No. 3. Wichita State won on No. 1 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 for their third point of the match. At No. 4 Wichita State won 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 for the match victory.
