SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA softball team could not overcome No. 22 Florida Atlantic on Sunday, falling 11-2 via the run rule in an American Athletic Conference series finale.
The Roadrunners (14-19, 2-10 The American) fell to the Owls (32-5, 11-1 The American), as freshman Reagan Stoudt (0-6) was pegged with the loss and Autumn Courtney (16-1) earned the win.
For UTSA, sophomore Kalee Rochinski and junior Katia Reyes each logged hits, while Rochinski posted the squad's lone RBI.
The Owls jumped out in front, scoring three in the top of the first, and UTSA replied, knocking in two across the home half, with Rochinski plating Rucker on a base knock and Prichard stealing home.
FAU then tacked on one in the second, five in the third, and two in the fourth to build an 11-2 edge.
UTSA will now hit the road with a contest at Prairie View A&M on Tuesday at 2 p.m., ahead of a three-game series in Denton against North Texas on the weekend.
