SAN ANTONIO — UTSA wins in hard fought battle against UNT 4-2 on Saturday, Mar. 1 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The Roadrunners are 14-1 to start the season and undefeated at home. Their one loss came against the American Athletic Conference team Tulane. UTSA has a 6-0 home record with an 8-0 road record and a 0-1 neutral record.
In singles, the Roadrunners are 53-16 with Arina Babenko leading the team with a 12-0 record, not far behind her is Vittoria Baccino with a 10-1 record. In doubles, the Roadrunners are 25-12 with a team of Valeria Sanchez and Ekua Youri leading with an 8-3 record.

UNT managed to take the doubles point winning on No. 1 6-1 and No. 2 6-4.
To open singles, UNT extended its lead to 2-0 after winning on No. 4 6-1, 6-2. Youri was able to win at No. 1 6-4, 6-4 for the Roadrunners’ first point of the match and Youri’s ninth singles win.
Corsini tied the match up at 2-2 after winning on No. 2 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, this was her seventh singles win. UNT regained the lead by winning on No. 5 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Babenko got ahold of her 12th singles win by defeating her opponent on No. 3 6-3, 6-7(1), 6-3 to even the match at 3-3.
To secure the Roadrunner’s 14th victory, Natalia Castaneda Guerrero beat her opponent on No. 6 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. This was her fourth singles win of the season.
