SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners set to play Sam Houston on Friday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. in Huntsville, Texas and Lamar at 11 a.m. in Beaumont, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 8.
The Roadrunners are 7-0 to start the season, marking Head Coach Ki Kroll’s best start leading UTSA. UTSA is 4-0 on the road this season, besting Prairie View A&M, NM state and UTEP to open the 2025 season.
Since 2007, UTSA is 8-6 in regular season play against Sam Houston and 7-7 against Lamar. The last time the Roadrunners played Sam Houston, UTSA defeated Sam Houston 4-0 on March 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. The Roadrunners beat Lamar 7-0 on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.
The Roadrunners are 28-3 in singles play as a team, with Arina Babenko leading the charge as she is 6-0. Ekua Youri is right behind her as she is 5-0 in singles. The tandem of Valeria Sanchez and Ekua Youri is 4-0, which leads the team.
After the two matches on Feb. 7 and 8, the Roadrunners will take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday, Feb. 10, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
