UTSA women’s tennis to host UNT

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA Roadrunners are set to host American Athletic Conference member North Texas at 10 a.m. on Mar. 1 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The Roadrunners are 13-1 this season, which is the best start of a season in program history. They are 5-0 at home, 8-0 on the road and 0-1 in their lone neutral site match. So far at home UTSA has beaten Texas State (4-1), St. Mary’s (TX) (6-1), Abilene Christian (6-1), Tarleton State (4-3) and Houston (4-3).

UNT and UTSA have played 11 matches since 2007 with UTSA having a 4-7 record against the UNT in that time. The last time these two teams played each other was on Mar. 2, 2024, where UNT defeated UTSA 4-1 in Denton, Texas.

The Roadrunners have a 49-14 record in singles play with Arina Babenko leading the team as she has won eleven of her singles matches without dropping one. In doubles, UTSA is 25-10 with a team of Valeria Sanchez and Ekua Youri leading the team with an 8-2 record. UTSA has outscored its opponents 60-17.

After the match against UNT, the Roadrunners will take on Rice at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 8 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.
