IRVING, Texas– Following a stellar weekend at the Roadrunner Classic, freshman Kaylie Olivarez was named American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as was announced by the league office on Monday.
Olivarez was dominant for UTSA, going 2-0 out of the pen with 5.0 innings pitched and eight strikeouts. She tossed 1.1 frames and twirled three strikeouts without allowing a hit in a victory over Michigan State before fanning three over 2.2 innings in a win against St. Thomas. The Hallettsville, Texas native also saw action against Sam Houston, striking out the side in an inning of work.
