SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners are set to take on South Florida and Tulane in their first American Athletic Conference matches of the season on Feb. 21-22 in Tampa, Fla.
UTSA is in the midst of making history as they are off to their best start in program history with a perfect 12-0 record. The Roadrunners are 5-0 at home and 7-0 on the road.
Since 2007, the Roadrunners are 2-0 over Tulane, with the last win being in 2024, where the Roadrunners beat Tulane 4-2 in Dallas, Texas, at the American Athletic Conference Championships. UTSA and South Florida have never played each other.
UTSA has outscored their opponents by a score of 54-11, only allowing seven of their eleven opponents to score a point. The Roadrunners are 44-9 in singles play, Arina Babenko is 9-0 on the season, and Vittoria Baccino and Ekua Youri are 8-1.
In doubles, a team of Youri and Valeria Sanchez earned a 7-1 record to help lead the Roadrunners to a 23-7 record in doubles.
After the conclusion of the two weekend matches, the Roadrunners will host North Texas at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 1 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas.
