SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA Women’s Tennis team makes history as it is off to their best start in program history, opening the spring 2025 season 12-0.

UTSA has a long history of Women’s Tennis dating back to the 1981-1982 season. In its 43 years of its existence, the program has never started a season 12-0.

The Roadrunners have outscored their opponents by a score of 54-11, only allowing seven opponents to score a point. In singles, the Roadrunners are 44-9; in doubles, they are 23-7.

The Roadrunners have dominated their opponents after they started the season sweeping Prairie View A&M in a double header 4-0, 4-0. They then headed west to the borderland to take on NM State and UTEP, beating NM State 6-1 and UTEP 4-0.

In its first home matches of the season, UTSA hosted Texas State and beat them 4-1. The very next day, they took on St. Mary’s (TX) at home and won 6-1. To open the month of February, the Roadrunners beat Abilene Christian 6-1 in San Antonio.

UTSA hit the road to take on Sam Houston, who it beat 4-0 and Lamar 4-0. In its first match played on a Monday, UTSA defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 4-1.

Just this past weekend, the Roadrunners defeated Tarleton 4-3 and Houston 4-3.
