SAN ANTONIO – On Monday, UTSA head volleyball coach Carol Price-Torok officially announced the signing of Italian native Ilaria Durante, who transfers in following three seasons at Charleston Southern.

Prior to her time at Charleston Southern, Durante clubbed with Volleyro Casal DE Pazzi in the Italy B1 league across 2017-19 and spent time with Megabox Vollefoglia in the A2 league from 2019-21. There, she placed second in the league and third in the Italian Cup before playing for ASD Giannino Piersalisi Valley in 2021-2022.
She appeared in 206 sets over 61 matches for CSU, tallying 1,346 assists, 503 digs, 45 kills, 28.0 blocks and 21 service aces. Durante surpassed 1,000 career assists on Oct. 27, 2023, in a match against UNC Ashville, and among other highlights, a 56 assists game on Nov. 11, 2024, against Radford serves as her career high. She posted 25 digs in a contest with Presbyterian on Nov. 15, 2024, and in total, has logged 32 double-doubles.
Durante is the daughter of Donatella Russo and Michele Durante, and she has a sister, Nicole Durante. At UTSA, she will study Business Management.
