'Runners plunder Pirates for 14th straight win in The Convo

UTSA topped ECU, 60-46, in American Athletic Conference action

SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA women's basketball team was again successful in the Convocation Center, topping East Carolina 60-46 and extending their program-record home winning streak to 14 games. The 'Runners remain undefeated at home in 2024-25, and their 21st victory on the year ties the 1983-84 squad for the third-most in program history.

The Roadrunners (21-3, 11-1 The American) plundered the Pirates (13-12, 5-8 The American), with redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins leading the way with 23 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. Junior Sidney Love also performed well, charting 15 to go with four assists and three steals, while classmate Cheyenne Rowe and freshman Taylor Ross each logged career highs in rebounds. Rowe tallied eight points with 10 boards, and Ross hauled in seven rebounds and swatted three shots.

UTSA shot 43% to ECU's 26% across the victory, keeping the opposition to an 0-for-10 mark from beyond the arc. The 'Runners also collected 11 more points in transition and scored four more in the paint.

Jenkins scored the first six UTSA points as ECU worked a slim 9-6 advantage in the first. Love drained a pair from the charity stripe to pull within one, and a sophomore Idara Udo layup put UTSA in front. After exchanging blows, ECU carried a 13-12 lead into the second stanza.

It was all Roadrunners to start the second, as a Rowe jumper sparked an 8-0 surge and built a 20-13 edge. UTSA's dominance continued as the Pirates were held to just four points in the frame, with a Jenkins triple resulting in a 29-17 lead at the half.

A Love jumper, a junior Maya Linton three, and a Jenkins jumper in the third extended the 'Runners lead to 20, and they never looked back as they cruised to a 60-46 victory.

The 'Runners will remain in the Convocation Center, where they'll host Memphis on Saturday at 2 p.m.
