CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — UTSA stays undefeated to open the 2025 season as the route Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 4-1 in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center on Monday, Feb. 10.
The Roadrunners are now 10-0 on the season, with seven wins coming on the road. In the 10 matches, the Roadrunners have outscored their opponents 46-5. UTSA is 37-4 in singles and 20-5 in doubles play.
UTSA will host Tarleton State on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the UTSA Tennis Center in San Antonio, Texas at 1 p.m.
Match 10
On court No. 3 in doubles, Aoka Nagasawa and Natalia Castaneda Guerrero took down their opponents in fast fashion 6-0. Letizia Corsini and Vittoria Baccino defeated their opponents 6-2 to win the doubles point, giving the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead.
To open singles play, Ekua Youri defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2, giving the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead. Youri is now 7-0 in singles. The Islanders shortened that lead to 2-1 as they won on No. 6.
At No. 5, Arina Babenko escaped with a victory after a hard-fought 7-5 win in the first set, winning the second set 6-1. With UTSA up 3-1, Baccino put away her opponent at No. 3 7-5, 6-3 to give the Roadrunners their tenth straight win.
