SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team will hit the road on Saturday, with an American Athletic Conference contest against Tulsa awaiting inside the Reynolds Center at 2 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Chad McKee (play-by-play) and Pooh Williamson (analyst) on the call. Neal Raphael will deliver all the action on the radio in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app.
The Roadrunners (11-2, 2-0 The American) are fresh off a 67-56 win over UAB that tied the 1985-86 season for the best start through 13 games in program history. UTSA also collected their eighth straight win in the Convocation Center, which ties the third-longest stretch, and the 'Runners have won their first two conference contests for the first time since 2009-10 when the squad was a member of the Southland.
Junior Sidney Love led the way with 19 points and seven assists, while graduate student Nina De Leon Negron collected eight rebounds, seven points and six assists. Redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins scored 16, with seven boards and two blocks, and freshman Damara Allen charted a career-high 11 points.
The Golden Hurricane (7-7, 1-1 The American) split their first two league meetings, securing a 93-84 win over East Carolina before falling to North Texas 84-78.
Delaine Crawford stars for Tulsa, topping the league and sitting just above Jenkins with 19.0 PPG. She is also 23rd in the nation with 266 total points, a 90.2% mark from the free-throw line is 22nd and 119 three-point attempts are third. Crawford converts 31.1% of her shots from beyond the arc, and 37 makes on the year are 20th in the NCAA. Her 96 field goals made overall are 32nd and 231 attempts are 11th.
Along with Crawford, Hadley Periman has swatted 20 shots on the year for the most in the league, and 1.82 blocks per game are 45th in the NCAA. Permian paces the team in rebounds, averaging 7.6 each time out, and Elise Hill has been solid, scoring 10.7 PPG with 30 assists and 24 steals.
