De Leon Negron crowned AAC Player of the Week

The award comes after finishing two assists shy of a triple-double against Tulsa

IRVING, Texas – On Monday, the American Athletic Conference released its weekly awards, with graduate student Nina De Leon Negron claiming Player of Week for the first time at UTSA.

De Leon Negron was phenomenal across a 64-53 victory over Tulsa, finishing two assists shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and eight helpers. Defensively, she posted a block and steal, all while shooting 50% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.

This marks the fourth consecutive week that a Roadrunner has won the award and the sixth time this season, as redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins has earned five.
