Jenkins wins fifth American Athletic Conference Player of the Week award

She’s won the award in each of the past three weeks

IRVING, Texas – Redshirt senior Jordyn Jenkins earned her third consecutive and fifth American Athletic Conference Player of the Week award of the season on Monday, as announced by the league office.

Jenkins nearly averaged a double-double across road victories over Memphis and UAB, averaging 19.0 PPG and 9.5 RPG with three steals and two blocks. She first scored 17 with 10 boards in a 70-68 comeback win against the Tigers before logging 21 points and nine rebounds in a 73-63 conquering of the Blazers.

She has now earned 11 Player of the Week awards (4x CUSA, 1x Pac-12, 6x AAC) across her collegiate tenure. With six selections in The American, she moves into sole possession of seventh on the league’s all-time list despite playing less than two full seasons. Ahead of Jenkins, Courtney Williams (USF), Katie Lou Samuelson (UConn), and Kitija Laksa (USF) have each won seven, while Napheesa Collier (UConn) secured eight, IImar’I Thomas (Cincinnati) won ten and Breanna Stewart (UConn) 12.
