SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA track & field teams kick off the 2025 Indoor season on Friday, as the Roadrunners travel to Flagstaff, Arizona to take on the Lumberjack Team Challenge, hosted by Northern Arizona – opening the 17th season under Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Aaron Fox.
Led by an elite jump corps that helped the men’s team finish third at their inaugural AAC Indoor Championships last season, the Roadrunners look to make a splash with a new wave of talent in their second season in The American. Fighting through numerous injuries to prominent athletes, the women’s team finished 11th at the league indoor meet last year.
Hosted by Northern Arizona at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome, the Lumberjack Team Challenge competition is scheduled to get underway with field events starting at 2 p.m. MST, followed by track events at 4 p.m. MST.
The Roadrunners will line up against athletes from Cal State-Northridge, Grand Canyon, Northern Arizona, UNLV, and a host of non-DI programs, along with a heavy slate of regional and national track clubs.
Live results from Friday’s NAU meet can be found here.

Several Roadrunners who reached the NCAA Opening Round and NCAA Championships will make their first appearance of the 2025 season on Friday. For the men, triple jumper Dylan James finished fifth at The American Outdoor Championships and third indoors in both the triple jump and long jump. Martin Kouyoumdjian earned All-America accolades as part of UTSA’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays last June in Eugene and looking to progress in the individual sprints. Christiaan Le Roux earned AAC silver in the indoor long jump, was fourth outdoors and reached the NCAA Opening Round in Fayetteville. Jemuel Miller has three All-America honors under his belt, including a 12th-place finish at last year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships. Both members of UTSA’s All-America relay squads in Eugene, Mike Roth and Noah Rhodes are looking for strong starts to the season in the sprints, while sprinter Oliver Swinney is looking to build on his rookie season that ended in Fayetteville. The women are headlined this weekend by two-time All-American long jumper Ida Breigan in her sophomore season, after earning both Indoor and Outdoor AAC Freshman of the Year honors and breaking numerous records in the program, conference and even on the books back home in Norway. Sprinters Kiah Dubarry-Gay and Thennelle Williams will build on last year’s qualifying performances that sent them to Fayetteville – both entering their final seasons. Sophomore Edlin Laur is also in the traveling party after breaking the outdoor high jump record in her rookie campaign, earning fourth at the AAC Outdoor meet and reaching the NCAA Opening Round. Returning to action after missing last season, Oreolewa Adamson was an indoor and outdoor All-American after sweeping Conference USA long jump crowns in 2023, and will be back on the runway this Friday.
