Kroll adds two star transfers to Roadrunners’ 2024-25 roster

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s tennis team and head coach Ki Kroll announced the addition of Cowley College star Arina Babenko and Angelo State (DII) standout Letizia Corsini to the 2024-25 roster.

Arina Babenko 5’9” Omsk, Russia Cowley College

Hailing from Omsk, Russia, Babenko will join the UTSA roster this upcoming fall after two seasons at Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kansas. She dominated at the junior college level in 2024, earning the No. 2 spot in the final ITA rankings in both singles and doubles action for All-American honors. Babenko led the Lady Tigers to their first NJCAA Division I National Championship title in program history.

“We’re so excited to welcome Arina to our Roadrunner family,” Kroll said. “She was a star at the junior college level with Cowley College for the past two seasons and will strengthen our lineup. Her experience competing in junior college tennis and at national championships will be crucial to our success.”

Letizia Corsini 5’8” Civitanova Marche, Italy Angelo State

Corsini joins the Roadrunners following two seasons at Angelo State, a Division II school in San Angelo, Texas. As a freshman, she was named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year and earned Second Team in singles play. Corsini earned CSC Academic All-American Second Team and ITA All-American as a sophomore. She led the Rambelles to their first NCAA DII Championship appearance in school history in 2024. Corsini earned the No. 3 spot in the final ITA rankings in singles play.

“Letizia is another big addition to our squad this upcoming fall,” Kroll said. “She was a two-time All-American at Angelo State and we’re excited to see what she does at this level. Birds Up!”
