McLay and Zlatarova earn CSC Academic All-District honors

SAN ANTONIO – Graduate student Cassie McLay and senior Aleksandra Zlatarova were both named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree list.

 

College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA, was founded in 1957 and is a 4,100+ member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.

 

The 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

 

To be eligible, an undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and a graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student.

 

A native of Melbourne, Fla., McLay has held a 4.00 GPA as she pursues her master’s degree in biotechology. In her one season with the Roadrunners, she has picked up eight singles wins and 17 victories in doubles action. Both honorees, McLay and Zlatarova, have dominated the first doubles court together all season.


A native of Burgas, Bulgaria, Zlatarova holds a 3.64 GPA and she will be graduating with her bachelor’s degree in management this spring. She has recorded 12 wins in singles action and 17 doubles victories. Zlatarova has accumulated 48 singles victories and 52 doubles wins in her four seasons as a Roadrunner.
