UTSA hosts Prairie View in Saturday doubleheader

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s tennis team is set to host Prairie View in a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Courts.

The Roadrunners hold a 10-6 record, after splitting last weekend at No. 55 Florida Atlantic (W, 4-3) and No. 28 FIU (L, 4-0). UTSA’s 4-3 win over No. 55 Florida Atlantic on March 15 was the program’s highest-ranked win of the 21st century. Freshman Ekua Youri leads the team with a 9-4 record in singles play. The team holds a combined 26-13 doubles record and a 44-30 singles record.

Prairie View holds a 4-14 overall record this season, following a 4-0 win over Alcorn State on Monday. The Panthers hold a 14-46 singles record and 4-17 doubles record. Victoria Castillo, Francesca Duna and Andrea Pascual Blanca each have two doubles wins. Duna and Pascual Blanca also have four singles victories each.

Next week, the Roadrunners play host to Sam Houston on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Feb. 4 but was canceled due to windy weather and later rescheduled for March 27.
