State of Texas designates Feb. 10 as UTSA 210 Day

SAN ANTONIO – The State of Texas Senate and House of Representatives on Saturday issued a resolution proclaiming February 10 as “UTSA 210 Day.” The day is a celebration of the strong bond that exists between UTSA Athletics and the City of San Antonio.

UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos presented the resolution at halftime of the UTSA vs. East Carolina men’s basketball game on Saturday. The resolution was signed by State Senator José Menéndez (District 26) and State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer (District 116).

The resolution reads, in part: “Whereas The University of Texas at San Antonio and area residents are celebrating UTSA 210 Day on February 10, 2024, in recognition of the school’s athletics programs … UTSA 210 Day was established by the Bexar County Commissioners Court in 2023; the annual event honors the growth and success of UTSA sports as well as the strong ties between the Roadrunners and the wider city of San Antonio; the celebration takes its name from San Antonio’s primary area code and the “Let’s Go 210” rallying cry that inspires UTSA fans and athletes … Whereas, the UTSA Roadrunners are a source of great pride for the residents of the San Antonio area, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in recognizing the university’s many achievements in athletics; now, therefore, be it resolved that UTSA 210 Day be commemorated and that all those associated with the university’s sports programs be commended for their efforts.”
